What's this Wilton 500s worth?

I saw this locally, and was wondering what you all think this 500 is actually worth paying for as a core to restore? It's a 1950s, opens, isn't seized.

I only have Tradesman vises, including a 1780, but wouldn't mind fixing up a machinist vise.

I can also make my own jaws, so the fact that it's missing one isn't an issue for me.

Probably about $150. $30 an inch is a good buy for a Wilton. So if it’s cheaper then not bad. $60 an inch on eBay is a going rate.

I'd buy a truck load of those at $150 each. But that's my area not out east.

At $150, I'd hold out for one in better condition. And newer versions (post 70's) are generally better, more weight per inch, and tougher cast iron. I bought one like that 2 summers ago for $50 w/o swivel and painted it a HD theme.

I tend to agree, I think the 500S is actually the model of the newer vise...i had a 5" like yours and it was some goofy number. The older ones look better IMO but are on the light side around 76 lbs. The newer 500S gained I think 20 lbs.
