I'm painting a metal door with a fan light insert. It's not installed yet, so I can disassemble everything and do a nice job. I removed the window so i can paint the backsides of the plastic mullion frames. The window was sealed to the outside frame with some sort of elastic material. It came out of a tube, is still pliable, but not sticky like mastic. It's very yielding, but it did not adhere to the window or frame like caulk, I was able to peel it out in one piece. It's a gasket type material as opposed to an adhesive. Any idea what it is called? Thanks!

Menards has similar product, different name for under 5 bucks. Just bought some to seal air leaks.

Thanks guys, that looks like what I want. The closest Menard's is 670 miles from me, and Home Depot doesn't carry it. Guessing this is an "up north" product. Amazon has got it though!

Okay, Catalina Island... All freight going to the island is handled by a single company that is very restrictive about what they carry. So no aerosols, epoxies, and apparently a bunch of other stuff.

If Amazon carries the product you are looking for; why look further?

Sorry, did not notice that you were in Florida. Photo of the brand menards sells. It has the consistency of what they use to stick your new credit card to the letter when getting a replacement cc.

Just a FYI

A lot of the manufacturer websites have a button. "Where to Buy" or something like that.
One problem is the website may only show retailers that carry any of the various DAP products, but not retailers that carry the exact item you want. That said, a similar product should be reasonably easy to find.
