I've had pliers sealed in the plastic come out looking like that off the truck. Its the anti corrosive grease they apply at the factory. No big deal, wipe off the excess and get to wrenching.
Yep.. As a reseller it kinda ***** because it’s hard to sell something as New in the sealed package when it looks Used. I normally just unseal them and wipe them off, prior to sending them off. I suspect on the opposite end of the spectrum if they showed up with flash rust, it would be another discussion.
