Mostly just sofware stuff... Trying really hard to optimize this joint to speed it up...

There are no major feature improvements, but those are coming.

The extra speed would be real nice. On 6 meg down load speed the site is still like dial up.

I find I miss the View All option already. Lots of button clicking to go back and forth to see the progression of a thread or flip back to check on a point made.

Thank you Ryan, like I said I thought it was a very handy/useful feature of the forum. Great having it available again!

What are the chances of a "New Posts" tab? Sure makes it easier than flipping through each section.

Click on the "Quick Links" and then click on Today's Posts" It will highlight all the posts of today that you haven't read and the ones that you have read will be in a lighter shade of grey.

I'm no longer able to get the full screen display. I hate only being able to use a portion of my screen. I had my options set up to allow me to view it like in the old days but now I've got the center cut thread again. Any suggestions?

MAD.

ditto. I wish more forums had the " view all " button/

Click on "User CP"..... on the Left there is a line called "Edit Options". Click on that..... Then you will find "Miscellaneous Options" as described below. Experiment with each of the options until you find the one that works best for you.

Miscellaneous Options
Message Editor InterfaceWhen posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.

Junk,
That doesn't work as designed. It won't list all of today's new posts (it greys them out after they are a couple hours old) nor does it list ALL the threads since you've last been on (which is what he and I both would like).

Been there, done that and still don't have access to the view I've had ever since the days of Garage Junkies. Something is messed up.

I believe Ryan forgot about the wide screen template that he enabled wayback when for certain people. The template might not have survived the site change or he just need to re-enable it. Just a guess...

If you use Firefox (and shouldn't everybody?) go to Tools, Options, Content, Colors, and uncheck the "Allow pages to choose their own colors". Then you can select any color background you wish, such as the light gray I'm using now.

I think IE will also do something similar but it's very complicated.

but it screws up the other 5 boards I'm on,:wtf:

most boards have a dark theme or style , on SHOForum we have heavy metal which is a dark theme,

what is really killing me is the small format of the page size, have a 16 inch
widescreen and only 8 inches of it is the forum , make it so hard to read I really have not been coming on here that much

I whined about this very problem some time ago and Ryan had to turn a feature on that allowed me to view it full screen. I'm sorry that he received information telling him this is what the world desires but it isn't. I belong to many forums and none of them make me use this sorry excuse for a layout. People pay big bucks to be able to use a wide screen and then use a forum that thinks they know better. This one needs to be re-thought.

2nd that have not been here much can't read the board its just 2 small

was a great place to come ..........

Yeah, I guess we shouldn't bite the hand that feeds us after all it is a free forum. In this case however I spend much less time on the board. It just isn't conducive to my surfing needs. Ryan told me he would get around to making this option available but that's like saying Christmas is coming. I suppose that turning this feature on could be more complicated than one might think.

Ha... Yall's strategy to convince me is funny. It's not a hard thing to do, just takes time... And I found some today... Look on the footer... See that drop down? Select default... Now you old guys can have the screen as wide as ya want it. :)

Ryan,

Thanks, I know this isn't a big deal to many people but I REALLY like the benefit of using all of my screen. I am now happy and the world is right again.

Tried the default style. Looks great. Only problem is, when I try to post a reply, I get an error message. Switched back to the garage journal defalult and it works fine. Anybody switch to the wide style and have the same problem?

I wonder if this is the same problem that I mentioned in my thread?

Regular "Post Reply" didn't work for me on full screen, how about the "Quick Reply". No that didn't work either, it got caught up in an endless loop saying please wait.

As long as I'm not posting, I like viewing in wide screen mode better. Maybe just switch back and forth.
