Actually, I have built multiple streams of income producing work around what I truly love doing (lawn care, lawn maintenance, landscape and drainage improvements, snow removal, de-icing, mechanical repair/maintenance and lifetime student of free enterprise). So 24/7/365 for me (for last 20+ years) and I would have it no other way! It's funny, but when I have non-productive "free time" I feel so guilty and upset at myself for not keeping my feet to the fire. This site and all the great members here are a great inspiration and the wealth of knowledge shared is second to none. Thank you!!

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

But here from 7-5 M-F Wish I could live the life of ChicagoSnow. You are only one town over from me.

Just got back to dayshift after 6 years of steady afternoons as production supervisor. (4 X 10 hour shifts)

Now working Mon-Thurs 6 am until 4:30 pm. Maintenance and tooling manager/Autocad dude. Took me a couple of weeks to get my sleep schedule in line, but all good now. Loving the new position, keeps me busy and I get to fix s&*t. Looking at going for my millwright ticket in the spring.

7am-330pm (1/2 hr lunch). usually get there 10-15 early and leave 5-10 late.
did 4-10s 5am-3pm m-th for another group in the company for a while. hardest part was getting my wife to go to bed.

Back when I did theatre stuff, 7am-1am with 1-4 hrs off in the afternoon wasn't uncommon but usually only 1-2 days at a time (whenever there were shows) sometimes with a 2hr commute each way. That's why I don't do theatre anymore: 1 week I made $100, the next I make $1000, the next $200, the next none. Luckily that was back in the days of living at home going to school so I could get away with it.

Maybe I'm psychic, but, I see a snow shovel in my immediate future.

M-F, no specific start time, but I generally start between 7-8, sometimes earlier when I want to get off early or need to get something done before a place opens up.

Typically I work 8-10 hours a day, but there have been plenty of 16+ hour days in the past too. I do the whole commercial HVAC thing, so sometimes you're not done until you're done. Typically I work 40-45 hours a week, rarely get close to 60, but mother nature seems to determine that more than I do.

I'm on call every 3-4 weeks, unless it's heating season, then I generally get all the boiler calls.

Not a bad gig overall, lots of freedom and flexibility for the most part. Sure beats being in an office most days!

Most days its 8:00 - 5:00 (or shortly after). I used to work later but now I prefer to work from home if I need to. That part of it is unpredictable because my company headquarters is in Japan and our plant is in Virginia.

I'm good at the moment I work Monday to Friday 9 to 5:30 in the tools trade and run my own cycle workshop on Saturdays. Enjoying life as I spent a long time in the past working 12 hours shifts averaging 72 hours a week and then on call, time or money you can't have both now I seem to have time or my garage workshop hobbies.

6-4:30 M-Th plus an hour commute each way. We have three kids under 2.5yrs. My wife keeps them on Wednesday and I keep them on Fridays. A nanny keeps them the other three work days. I'm always on call for true emergencies.

When it's extremely slow I'm 8am-3:30pm (7 hrs) and when it's extremely busy usually 8-8pm (12 hrs). I have done my fair share of long nights and early mornings because when you're in show business ... The show must go on.
Once, we were on an install and the client was not satisfied with the finished piece so we stayed 32 hours on the clock to fix it to his liking and then stay for the show and then strike it and went home. That's my longest shift this far.

I am a salaried desk jockey, focused on growing a section of our business. I am usually in the office around 8:00 am and out of the office around 5:30. I usually work a little after the kids are in bed.

In truth, I work as much as I need during the week to get the work done (its never really done). But I do not work weekends!!!!

Residential garbage truck driver. Start at 0530-off asap. Mon-Fri. Only have to work 4 hours to get paid for 8 so we hussle. Usually 35ish hours a week.

So I take it you might be on incentive or possibly hourly. And you are union too to get paid 8 and only have to work 4. Thats the way our contract is set up.

I start around 7:30-8:00 right into phone conferences with Europe, leave work around 5 do dinner then maybe a little relaxing and back on my laptop after. I would say its a consistent 10-12 hours a day. If I'm motivated or have something pressing the weekend is not abnormal. Sometimes I wish I was hourly...

Work 6-6 plus .3 hours for roll call. Rotate days to nights every 2 weeks. Work a 48 hour week and then a 36 hour week. 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off rotaion. Every weekend is a three day weekend, off every other weekend. And there is always overtime to pick from or to get forced. This year I've almost doubled my base pay by working OT. Work doing nuclear security.
