I bought an odd table saw from a museum. This had been sitting in a pile of other things and they threw this in. Obviously it's a shear of some kind. Anybody know what it was used for?
It's about a foot long, and the movable stop goes from 0 to 5-1/2 inches.
The only I.D. is it says "American" on one side of the handle.
And "Patented May 22, 1900" on the other side.
The knurled knob seems like it might clamp down on a missing rod that would have been 1/4" in diameter.
The movable stop moves freely.
Whatever it was made to cut was stepped or layered.
