I've had this knocking around for years and just couldn't throw it out. It's about 1" diameter and nothing on it moves. Any ideas?

Fuel gage of some kind ?
Maby the little pin should move ? (in the 3rd pic)
it could activate the needle in the empty-full slot.
but I have no idea exactly what it is !

Looks like a fuel gauge for a very old outboard boat motor.

One piece of 3, missing the float and a captured screw housing this piece "keys" into.
The gauge shows the last float reading until you press the button and it release the gauge needle, avoiding vibration issues.
But, that is a total "guess, on my part....
