Whazzit? Tool Identification Question

Received in a large lot of patternmaker's tools, amongst which were numerous carving, woodturning, and measuring/marking tools. It seems this could fit in those categories though it appears to be part of a larger piece of equipment.

It is made of aluminum, has no manufacturer marks, has a semi-sharp blade on one end, definitely flat edge on bottom. The two holes in the piece are unthreaded steel screw-in inserts, suggesting the piece sets on pins and so, perhaps turns or angles. Blade has adjustments, so presumably, it cuts large volumes and wears or allows precision adjustments. The screw on the side bottoms out / doesn't pass through the piece.

Ideas?

The blade appears to be designed to cut flush with the flat on the flat on the back of the aluminum piece.
That’s all I can say.
