Anybody use a wheel hub cleaning kit?

Few different styles from different vendors

Looks interesting but don't know if it would be worth purchasing. Been swapping wheels for years and never had any issues.

I use the 3M kit with the purple discs. I use it mostly to ensure a clean rotor to hub face contact area before using an on car brake lathe.

I use the 3M Roloc for wheel hubs. Hardly any rust here but I clean it up even before cutting the rotors/drums.

I'd be interested if I could find a powered tool. Currently I use a wire brush, by hand.

That tool in the link isn't cleaning the whole hub. The contact surface of the rotor and/or wheel would still be pressing against corroded hub areas with built-up rust and debris, which may easily cause runout in the rotor or wheel. I'm a stickler for having minimal runout (I check EVERY rotor with dial indicator), and I'm super careful about proper lug nut criss-cross tightening and torquing.

Next time I go to the US, I am going to purchase the Steelman kit, looks like the most bang for the buck in terms of how much pieces you are getting

https://www.tooltopia.com/steelman-99905.aspx

I have the matco branded version of that

Very rarely use it. I’ve never had an issue in the thousands of brake jobs I’ve done that had anything to do with it.

Might be more helpful for on car lathes

I have the 3M version. Found out about it watching Eric O. on the SMA channel. If anyone knows about rust, its him. I've had success with it in my die grinder.
