Well I have not posted on here in sometime, so I thought I would post up a build we did in the shop. Some of you know the foundation problems and electrical problems I had. I had to lay to foundations because the first was SOOOOOO messed up. Well are some pics of us working in it.
This is project that TexasJeepOwners.com decided to do to help the Marble Falls Event for the Wheelers for the Wounded or WFTW. WFTW is an organization that takes wounded soldiers and thier families out trail riding for a weekend. In Marble Falls we treat them to breakfast, lunch and dinner, good trails, many activities for the kiddos and entertainment at night. We also house many of them over night. Last years event was a Blast. This years fundraiser is Oct 24. We built Jeep bumpers in the shop to donate for the event. it was a blast working on them. We could use more items so if you have anything or would like to Donate just PM me and ask how. On to the Pics:
This was a project that out forum decided to do. I am posting it up in hopes that the event will get some notice and maybe other clubs and groups will follow suit. They need raffle items bad and this was mentioned to us. After a very short discusion which I believe went, "We need to do something" "okay, let's build bumpers" The project was underway. I hope you enjoy the pics. The idea was to build three bumpers and donate them to the Wheelers for the Wounded Fundraiser to Raffle off. Work began at about 9am sharp with several getting here around 8:30 am. The last left at 7:00 pm and it was a lot of work. We slowed down a bit in the afternoon. We got all three of the main parts built and grinded up, we got the 3 stingers built and have one almost complete. The only thing missing is some supports for the Stinger. We also collected right $60 in cash Donations….WAY TO GO!!!!
Here is a pic of the group that helped minus one. Shannonism had to leave early.
This is how they all started. Scramble Me drop off these Shackle mounts he made.
Here is Don “Dirty Ole MAN” I think this was morning coffee break.
Here are some other pics (the rest of us working)
.
Dirty Ole Man….. Doin what he does best ….
.
All kidding aside. I give Dirty Ole Man Don Broussard a hard time, but his experience is sure handy to have in a shop and his ideas, as strange and they may sound (to bunker ) they work awesome. This was alot fun. We also picked up a $40 cash donation and a $20 cash donation to add to the pot. Several of these guys traveled an hour- two hours or more to do this. Huge thanks to all that came out.
Now off to be blasted and painted. Also, whoever wins these, part of the deal is you have to be able to carry it off. They are heavy built. "Team Overkill" strikes again!!!!!
