Been looking at English wheels, some have the wheels mounted 90° to the frame and others are mounted inline with the frame. Is there any advantage to one over the other?

90 to the frame allows you to work much longer pieces. What it really depends on is what you plan on rolling. If you need the length, then the 90 degree wheel will be the best. Think car roof sections.

you need to get onto METALMEET.COM
they are some of the smartest metal guys around

which is better? depends on what you are working on and in which direction
for most people it wont matter but for some people the odd shapes and sizes they need one that does both.
many guys that make them simply make a system that allows them to rotate both wheels 90deg and then they are set
