Hello -
I plan to epoxy my garage floor in the next few weeks (purchased Epoxy-Coat product). I thought I could put down sikaflex before putting the epoxy down, so that the floor is seamless and doesn't have any cracks for dirt to build up in. I just read a few posts on here though that said putting epoxy over the sikaflex will cause the epoxy to crack where the sika was put down? Is this true? I already used an angle grinder to make my expansions joints into a "V" shape which I read was a good idea to prevent the floor from bubbling when the cement expands and contracts.
Should I put the sikaflex down before or after the epoxy is down?
How long do I need to wait for the sikaflex to dry before I can epoxy? Can says it dries tack free in 2 hours but fully cures within 3-5 days I believe. Do I really have to wait that long before I can epoxy over it?
