When did Chas Parker change base locks?

Anyone know when Chas. Parker changed from the captive wrench to the more common captive T-bar lock?

This T-bar one is on a nicely done restoration for sale on our local craigslist. I almost didn't look at it because the headline is just 4" Bench Vise - $245 (Spok. Valley), however, I correctly guessed at that price the seller reckoned he had something of value.

It's the other way around. The wrench assembly came after the "T-bar". I don't know the exact date but I'm pretty sure it was in the 20's or 30's. And that one looks homemade BTW. It looks like the front horseshoe might be also.

Learn something here every day. Just by looks, the wrench appears from an earlier era than the T-bar.

The lock looking very nice, but maybe so much so it could be shop-made was what first caught my eye. The fabricated steel horseshoe might actually be stronger for a user, but it won't say "Parker" and thus lessens the perceived value of the vise to collectors.

If it were all original parts restored to that level, is $245 the market today?
