When Does the FX-88D Go on Sale?

Hi, I've got a project and could use a soldering station. I've been reading and the Fx-888d would seem to fit my price point and what I need. I've seen that it goes for $70 on sale sometimes, I was wandering if somebody on here knows when they might go on sale. I'm willing to wait a couple months, but if it's going to be longer than that, I think I would be better off using the 20% Google Express coupon bringing the cost to about $80.

Thanks

I'm looking at the price history of that soldering station on camelcamelcamel (Amazon price tracker). It looks like it has only dipped below $80 a few times in the last couple of years, and it only dipped below $70 twice. Average price on Amazon (other sites may be lower) is about $92. I think if you can get it for $80, you're probably doing OK.

The only place I have seen it go on sale is Frys. I ended up buying it from Frys through google express with an amex card. The Amex card had a cash back offer for google express and google express had a discount for your first purchase. I ended up getting my Hakko for $71 shipped.

Frys occasionally has it on sale for $80. You can look at Slickdeals for some historical context.

Yes, Fry’s has it for 79.99 fairly often. You can go to Frys.com and sign up for their e-coupons. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it for less, that I can remember. But if you need it it’s still a decent buy at full price.

I bought mine in Jan 2014 from Frys for $69.99 shipped. Not sure I've seen it that cheap again since, but if it was it would have been at Frys. I've used it for every project since and still using the original tip. If it broke today, I'd buy a new one at full price it's worth every penny.

I looked up and found a previous thread and saw that last time (posted on Garage Journal) that it was for sale around $70 was November 2017. I wander if they will do a Labor Day sale.

So I started a another thread about needing help with repairing my Dewalt DCS355 oscillating tool that I need the soldering station for, but haven't got hardly any replies on it. I really need somebody that has a little experience with repairing electronics on finding the right part I need.
