edge to edge ceramic or any kind of tile?
have no grout lines.

I put down a marble floor tile with no grout lines between the cut marble and it looks great.

Couple of reasons.

In a wet environment tiles that are laid together with no grout area will not seal out moisture like grout will.

You are fortunate your marble came out OK, it's very common to have minor variances in dimension on stone, grout lines give you a place to 'take up the slack". Even ceramics and porcelain tiles can have some variance as well.
