When To Become Concerned?

A while back I had my Snap on dealer send off 2 of my Snap on torque wrenches to be calibrated, both were back in my box in 3 weeks.

I threw my Matco dealer a bone by letting him get another of my Snap on torque wrenches re-calibrated. It has now been 5 weeks and it still isn't back.

I am not worried about him not making it right, IF the wrench disappears, but, IF I were still buying tools, and were still in the process of deciding what brand to choose, the time delay would be making a decision as to who got my money easier.

Hope you have a few spares laying around, 5 weeks is a long time for anything! That is why I purchased a few extra's just in case so if they need calibration I won't be SOL!

There are so many different sources to get them repaired, I would bet that they sent them to different shops. 1 could be faster than the other.

I needed a Matco breaker bar warranteed once when I didn't have a dealer. Called the company, they gave me the info of where and how to send it. Got it back in barely a week. They even told me to keep my shipping receipt and if I ever got another dealer he was obligated to honor it for truck credit. My new Matco dealer has warranteed things for me that I didn't actually expect him to. I couldn't be happier.

Are you sure your Matco guy didn't pawn it off to a Snap On dealer and that's the delay? My old Mac guy would get other brands warranteed for me when I either didn't have or didn't like the other dealers. Obviously it took awhile sometimes because it wasn't a priority for any of them.

(I understand calibration is not a warranty isssue, just using it to assess customer service.)

tony shold have sent them to western repair. they are the fastest. Just ask him and he will give you the ticket number and the model number from the service order. Some of mine come back in two weeks some take 3. I send all of mine off at once. I do not send them that same day. the shipping would eat me alive. since there are 3 of us dealers locally we combine all of our repairs up each week or so and send them all out. it takes a week to possibly get it boxed up and sent out and a week to get it to the repair center and then a week or two to get it fixed then a week to ship it back or so then a couple of days to get it to you. so 5 weeks is common. 8-10 is troublesome

No. the torque wrench is guaranteed for one year. After that it is a flat rate repair.
The ratchet part carries a life time warranty like a ratchet does. \

I've sent 3-4 of mine in through work to get them calibrated and it has taken 6-8 weeks every time. (Work pays for half) Some of those calibration shops are slow.
