Days like yesturday I wished I had an I beam buried in the concrete to weld to

Sadly I dont

My antique truck got rearended last night in a hit and run while pulling said skidsteer. I’m probably over capacity on truck/hitch with that setup

Bumper is attached via hitch and is purely cosmetic

Buckled end of frame horn down, bent up hitch and bent frame flanges under the shackle upwards where the hitch bolts on

Anyways used chain hooks on frame where buckled up, ran under my skidsteer forks, then combination of three bottle jacks had everything back lined up in about 40 minutes to atleast I’m not pissed off enough to not drive it. New heavier hitch on its way and going roads a brace going further forewards and probably figure out way to box very end of frame rails so it can’t pull the flange down again

Nice truck, I'm apparently old as it's hard to wrap my head around classifying a 79 as antique. Classic for sure, but to me antique implies much older. :p

Glad you could fix the damage.

Hate these damn hit and run jerks.

Nice truck, had a 79, wish I still had it.

Quite the rigging setup, but that’s the way to do it. Good idea on the forks.

Nice use of the forks/chains/jacks. Got to think that the front end of the vehicle that hit you came out much worse. Back end of that trailer is pretty hard, and backed up by a lot of mass. Speaking of mass, you probably are bit over capacity (of the truck, not the engine) with that combo. Beefed up rear frame rails (and good trailer brakes) will help a lot. I have seen worse. Many years ago, a neighbor pulled a Farmall 1466 (with cab and duals) on a gooseneck from central Illinois home to central Missouri with a '78 F250 4x4, with a stock 400/4 spd. Made it just fine, but I don't think he'd do it again.
