So are you talking building or what? I use levels, plumbs, and squares. Are you trying to correct a mistake?

i think what he means is measure out 3 feet on one wall, 4 feet on the other, adjoining wall and draw a line where the 3 and 4 foot measurements stop and it should read 5 ft.

same thing applies for the 6,8 10 measurement.

In addition to 3,4,5, measure diagonals, should be equal. Use a survey level or transit to check and turn 90*angles.....

When I put a several of my buildings I was shown to erect it fairly loose, later using a cable come-a-long to square it up and finally tightening it all down. The last building we did it was a 1/4 out of plumb but we were happy do to the fact it was a used building.

What do you need to know? How to hang guy cables to plumb (vertically level) a building?
FWIW 1/4' is within tolerance for structural steel.

I had a friend as a kid who's dad, Richard Rising, worked for a bridge building company. He'd answer the phone, "erections, **** Rising"!!:shocking:
