looking at all these pictures of these wonderful huge garages makes me want to do something with mines. sadly one thing that plays a big role is lack of space. all i have is a 20x20 garage. its a separated type, brick walls, wooden door, nasty looking cylinder glass block style windows.

I was wondering if anyone had similiar setups to give me ideas of what i can do to clean it up and etc, i want to put a couple of storage racks but i dont think have enough room. 2 cars are parked regularly, i have my 26in c-man box and newly bought 26gal compressor right in the center, i have a ped board on one side and a more junk and a bicyle of the oppsite side.I have about 7 rims/tires stacked high and other auto parts. Its already cramped.

I'm big DIY car guy, my parents are getting me to slowly become a small DIY home repair guy as well.

so lets see pictures!!!!!

no pictures of something your size, but post up some pics of what youve got and I'd be glad to give you some ideas...

No pics but I have a 20x20 like you do and have been thinking of ways to make it more user friendly for me. Once I get back to the states I am planning to build cabinets on one wall planning to build floor to the bottom of garage door track cabinents to hide a lot of junk from in the house and from in the garage. On the other wall I plan to build at least 2 more floor to bottom of garage track cabinets. Then a few wall cabinets for above my work bench area. I figure I will loss about 36 inch's from the wide part of my garage but for the car that I keep in there it will be no problem and if I need to put another one inside I should still be able to since I just did it before leaving to come were I am at and had lots of room left over.

i'll snap a couple of pictures.. at the time the garage has a lot of things that can be moved into the basement. I do ideally want a workbench of some sort and a large 4-6 shelf unit on the sides so i can put up my random junk.

I also have a lawnmower in the garage as well. i've been looking at ideas of a smalll shed to put in the backyard, for the bike, lawnmower and the gardening stuff my parents have.

I will have to get some recent pics up . I can tell you one thing put your workbench on the side of the garage 20 feet I learned the hard way is not deep enough to put a bench at the end and still get a larger vehicle in . My garage is almost 21 feet deep My 63 ford unibody long bed is 18 feet long . I am in the process of moving all the lower cabinets/ workbench to the side wall so I can get around the truck when I move it back in this winter.

well i dont plan on have LARGE vehicles, aleast at the moment. I have a 96 camry, 94 camry, 98 maxima and soon to be 04 infiniti g35 sedan. I do have to get plans for a wagon type car or a small pick up, hardbody, frontier, ranger to pick up house stuff, wood , bricks random stuff.

with my maxima right now, i can pull in, in front of my tool box and have 6 inches in front and maybe a little over a foot in the back. I didn't get an exact measurement but its very close to 20x20.

yea thats about the only negative thing. But i'm going to be moving things around. i do plan on keeping it at that same wall just putting it offset so i dont hit my bumper all day long trying to get stuff out.

I still have to evaluate what goes into the basement, what can be trashed and if should i get a shed which makes it easier to steal from.
