Would like to replace mine on a bench grinder, an old 6" Baldor I'm redoing the wiring on. Figure why not while I'm in there...anyone especially in love with a reseller or brand, ebay or elsewhere? Otherwise, McMaster or something like that is fine?

Look on ebay for a good industrial Cuttler Hammer, square D or the like industrial unit.

Most of the time I just get them from my local hardware store in the variety bins.

For a Craftsman motor, I didn't just want a switch that "will do the job". So I had to order from China on eBay to get a matching switch. I bought a 3-pack to have spares, but the same seller also sells them in 1's and 2's. They are listed as "amplifier switches" under the listing.

The size and look are the same as my original switch, but the feel is not as tight. I'm glad I bought spares.

I purchased a box of 12 NOS SPST ON/OFF switches with 9" leads on flea-bay, for around $9/delivered.
I use them for my tube amplifier builds.

Its getting VERY difficult to find decent toggles at local B&M's any more. Kudos if you have a decent supplier locally...

I need a chain pull switch for my lamp, the dang barrel snapped (plastic...)

Pull them from old electronics nowadays. Otherwise...ebay or walmart. Depends on the kind of switch you want (feature wise) and how much you want to pay. I've rarely had problems with "dorman" retail switches (I believe that's the brand) but they're pricier now and you can buy generic chinese switches much cheaper on the internet but have to wait for shipping.

We have a chinese work light at work that gets switched off and on at least 15 times a day, probably more. I've replaced pretty well every component on that lamp from my personal stash I have at home. The last thing to go was the off/on switch. I've always saved toggles etc from equipment I junk so have a nice stash of oldies, one of which I used on the lamp. Every time I switch it off and on I just love the positive sound. The new ones just don't have it. I joke with the guys at work that the lamp is now 80% north american made. I haven't had to touch it now for about the last year and a half.
