Where can I find a tiny 1/4" ball valve for small compressor?

I just picked up a Campbell hausfeld 4 gallon air compressor. Doing stuff around the house and it just proved more economical to get one like this than to try and fill my little 5 gallon and keep going in the garage etc...

It's an oil compressor and everything I've read has good review. Other than the air silencer being broken because it was plastic, it seems nice. I ordered a solberg air filter so hopefully get that soon.

Mean while it has a stupid petcock that is almost impossible to open without vice grips, so I'd like a little on/off valve just like my 30 gallon air compressor does. The problem is since this is lower to the ground the normal campbell 1/4 full port valve won't fit...

My brother in law has a little tractor supply store compressor and it has a tiny 1/4" ball valve... I took a picture but I can't find this ANYWHERE..

Does one know where to get something like this?

It's tiny, which is awesome and it would fit on mine if I could find it somewhere...

Thanks,
-Nigel

Yep first place I checked.. all are at least over 2.5 inches which isn't going to work because it's going to hit the floor. I don't want to carry this around and then possibly break it off on the threads or something like that.

That above on/off valve on the other compressor is perfect size. I just can't find that anywhere.

Thanks,
-Nigel

I find it very hard to believe that all the ones in the picture I posted are over 2.5" ....ESP the last one.

Look with the compressor fittings and parts at HD, not in the plumbing section. They have this exact valve. Male on one end, female on the other. Tiny.

Yea that last one on amazon was going to be it but when I read all the reviews the last dudes review says make sure you have at least 2.5" of clearance from the floor to compressor.

Checking out mcmaster now.

The campbell 1/4 valve is longer than what is on his little tank I've got several of these and it's the same one in the kit.. I took a picture.

If I put the 90 degree fitting then the on/off is pointing up in the air.

That pull one might work but would really like just a tiny lever one.

Found these on ebay. Looks to be about 1.5 inches long which would work I think.

just cut the one you have in that picture, you dont need the female threads so you could slice a decent amount off then sand/file the cut smooth

I was getting ready to mention the lever/handle length, as the ones in the pictures would have a lever longer than the body itself. I'm assuming the CH one you pictured on the tank doesn't have threads on the end exposed to air? It shouldn't have room for any threads since the valve takes up the space in the center.

My opinion, take the CH one in the picture above and cut the female thread portion off the end. You still have the handle to contend with though...but I guess you don't have to move the handle much to let air/water out.
