I've been trying to source out some electrical connectors for a few projects. I've been going through the waytek website and needless to say, it *****. The minimum quantities never match the counterpart of what your looking at. Then half the time I can't find the counterpart or the rest of the associated parts. I see something and think, oh damn that will work great. Then can't find the rest of the pieces.

any other places to look at a good selection of electrical connectors and wiring accessories?

You might want to move this thread to the Lighting and Electrical section of gj. I work at a hospital and we get all our stuff from Grainger. They stock many different brands.

I've used these guys a few times for Deutsch connectors in the mahcinery I work on:
https://www.wirecare.com/deutsch-connectors-main.asp

I really like those connectors but have never dealt with assembling those. Is a deutsch crimp tool required or can you just use a decent regular one?

I ended up on the del city site. Dropped like 250 bucks on connectors, terminals, some switches, wires... oh boy. ha ha. I won't need any for a while

Can be crimped with regular crimpers if you are careful.

I've used Del City many times with no problems. Otherwise I buy from anther local supplier. I've never used Waytek.... and they're only about 15 miles from me. Every time I've called there, they make me feel like I'm being an inconvenience to them..... which I guess I tecnically am considering my small orders.

I used to use Waytek until they hosed me on shipping a couple times (and I live an hour away), now I use Del City. Better pricing, no minimums, cheaper shipping.

I found a local hardware store with a great selection of connectors, but it took awhile to discover the right store.

About 10 years ago, I came across a seller at an automotive swap meet who sold me a large tote of misc connectors from a mom & pop auto parts store that had closed and I've never been shopping since!

For run of the mill crimp connectors (**** connectors, etc) I have been buying from this place.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/install_depot/m.html

Like this kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/381599694290

480 piece 3M heat shrink connector assortment for $70 bucks to your door. Good top quality USA made connectors.

Or this kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/351118866841

2400 piece USA kit for $150!

Not everything this place sells is top quality USA made but they do have a lot of stuff and that same assortment from Del would run you probably 8 times as much.
