Can anyone give me some pointers on where to heat this dent to try and work it out some? Not perfect but to where I can hide it with fiberglass. It's steel, maybe 16ga., about 24"long, I can access the backside, comes to a pretty sharp crease at ends, an inch deep or so at deepest. Thanks!

Is that the end cap on a school bus? I agree with some hammer work, not sure heat would make that pop out.

It the end cap on a 40's semi trailer. I was thinking heat would ease the hammering process..but was also pretty confident it could make it worse if done in wrong spot

Any access inside? I would hold off on the hot wrench if you can until you gently massage that out. Try not to beat the **** out of it too badly and stretch the metal any more than it is.
Welding tabs on it would also work if access is limited.

So consensus is no heat. I like the idea of rounding over a piece of wood and hammering from the inside. Think I even have an old wooden baseball bat to use like a punch. Thanks guys!

The reason you dont want to use heat is simple. Heating the metal caues it to shrink. Heating the entire crease will shrink it a lot. You may need to do some small controlled heat shrinks once you're done massaging it back into position. Do some online studying of heat shrinking before you do. Good luck!
