Where to buy FACOM U.14a puller in USA?

Hi guys and girls,

I have not been able to find a USA dealer of FACOM tools that stocks the U.14a two arm puller. I have been able to find plenty located in Europe, but shipping inflates the price by ~$30.

I'm primarily going to be using this for stubborn windshield wiper arms and battery terminals.

FACOM U.14a:

Suggestions of an alternative high quality* equivalent puller are welcome.

*I just returned a Lisle USA puller that was absolutely unusable out-of-the-box. The claws at the bottom of the puller weren't even close to aligned which shifted the angle of the downward pressure of the puller so far from perpendicular that it was ineffective. Total piece of ****.

If you can find the battery puller from craftsman, it has pulled battery clamps and wiper arms just find for me for 15 years. I think it is made by Wilde, Epstein's may carry it.

If you can find the battery puller from craftsman, it has pulled battery clamps and wiper arms just find for me for 15 years. I think it is made by Wilde, Epstein's may carry it.

That looks like a good option too. Have you had any issues with the arms of the puller accessing recessed wiper arms?

Thanks Monte, but is this readily available Stateside? Also, the images didn't show up, and I don't sprechen sie deutsch, which makes navigating their website a bit difficult. I love German options though.

Can't help you with where to get one in the US, but I can tell you that they make excellent wiper pullers! I've been using one for the past 10 years on wipers, and it's been great. However, if you work on Audi A4's (2000-2006) you'll need to remove the sliding t-handle. I cut mine off one day fighting with the drivers side wiper on an A4 cabriolet, and wished I'd done it sooner! I use just an allen wrench to turn it. The B6 A4 drivers wiper is so tight under the bonnet, the top of the shaft touches the under of the bonnet, and there isn't even room for the flattened end of the t-handle. Cutting it off allows you to turn it with an allen wrench flush to the hole, and there's *just* enough clearance to get the wiper off.

I've been meaning to pick up another myself, just incase I ever lose or break mine. Great tool, couldn't live without it!

Awesome! On my pickup ('97 Nissan Hardbody), the connection between the wiper arms and body are recessed behind the hood which doesn't allow some of the pullers with fatter arms to get in there without scratching the body.

I first saw the FACOM U.14a in a Safelite (mobile auto glass service) technician's box. I asked him where he got it, and he just said it belonged to the company.

I'd say I use the HD one the most, but the Facom has been a reliable bit of kit, and very useful.

Right on! Thanks for the reference. Too bad that distributor is based in the UK. This must be how you Europeans feel if/when you can't find a specific USA tool over there.

This setup looks nice too. It's got all the bells and whistles and a bright green case (ooh... aah). Also, I don't own any Wera tools yet, so it might be a good chance to get my feet wet with their products.

In the past, I have used a nut with a smaller OD than the pole into which the pointed spindle can fit. Works like a charm.

I looked on the Kukko website, and couldn't find the set without the ratchet. Maybe they don't offer it anymore. Do you have that set's part # handy?
