So I have this set from Craftsman that has worked very well for me through the years, but my M8-1.25 chase is broken. Is there any place that these can be bought as singles? It seems this same kit was sold under many different names. There has to be a way to buy a single replacement without spending $30. Thanks.

Whats the difference between a chase and a nut or a die? First google hit for a die in that thread pitch is $13 at home depot. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gyros-8...Steel-Hex-Rethreading-Dies-92-98125/204626118

ACE hardware for $6.

Matco for $8

For the male part, they have taps.

I think that kit is actually made by Rigid? I have the same extra one in Snap On flavor and I'm missing a tap. Everytime I use it (rarely) I remind myself I should order one in. And then forget about it.
Took me almost 15 years to order in a 9/16" 1/2" deep well that was missing from my Snap On socket set... so what's another 15 years?

Best place is McMaster.com $8.89 + shipping for a cutting tap.

High speed steel over Carbide or manual applications.

If you want to restore the threads and not clear gunk out (which is what I think your current set does)

Get chip-free forming tap 2534A45 $16.99 + shipping.

I've many times made a thread chaser(cleaner-up-er?) by taking a triangle file and cutting a couple sharp grooves across the threads of a correct size regular bolt or nut. Usually does a fine job. Worked great for many years until I finally bought a set similar to the one pictured above.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I have taps, but they aren't always the right tool for the job and they certainly don't fit in my kit. This is exactly what I needed.

Thanks a bunch!!

Snappy, use to sell a very similar set,.. Im missing two peices myself. Wish I bought mine at sears. Might be some truth in advertising here, it says " there is a difference " on this set twice. Clearly there is, the layout is different..

That's the one I have as well. Was in a box I was told "make go away" by the boss, so it went away to my garage.

Pretty sure you can order the individual ones through Snap On. That who's name is on my kit that looks identical to yours.
Looks like they are $5.50 through snap-on. Anyone with an account tell me how much shipping would be?

Thanks.
