I'm building a 24x32 pole barn soon and I'm debating on going with pre engineered trusses. I've searched around a bit but can't seem to figure out where to buy these things. I'm in the Houston area (North side) so I know there around. Any help would be appreciated.

Talk to your lumber yard. They will either build them or have a place to order them from, or suggestions where to do so.

I currently have Home Depot and Lowes getting me prices from the contracters they use. I'll do a search for local lumber yards and see what I come up with. Thanks for the help. I had planned on spacing these 48" OC with every other one sitting on top of a 6x6. There will be a 2x8 header around the top "sandwiched" on the posts also for the other trusses to sit on. It'll be holding 2x6 girts with a metal roof. Sound legit?

I got mine at McCoys. They can engineer them for you depending on what you want. Worked out great. Tip: make sure you get enough trusses to insure they are on 18 inch or 24 inch spacing if you are planning drywall or insulation. They don't normally seem to design for one more truss than is necessary for your design loading. I think they are in Houston too.

I get mine through a local lumber and building supply. They can actually get them cheaper than I can by dealing direct. The yard I use has a salesman who deals in the special order stuff like trusses, building packages, cladding, etc. Show them your plans and ask them to bid a building plan. They should be very competitive.

Lowe's quoted me around $100 each for 26' trusses. Does that sound reasonable? Seems a little high to me. Still waiting on Home depots quote. I'll get with McCoys and local lumbar yards today. Thanks

I ordered my steel trusses the other day but before I did so I called the nearest lumber yard to get a quote on wood trusses. They just got back with me a few minutes ago.

Steel 40' x5 1' overhang 2" tube 4/12 $1800
Wood 40' × 12 1' overhang 4/12 $4300

both delivered.
