I need about 75' of 6/3 wire to run from my service to my garage. Can anyone help with where to buy?

Grainger sells a 500' roll for under $600 ~ around $1/ft....but this is silly. Seems all shorter lengths are very expensive.

Your local big box stores should sell it by the foot. Also, check your local electrical supply houses.

I generally find Graingers to be very over priced. They have everything but your will pay for it.

Are you running it through walls/studs or is it across joists in the attic? I ask because you will have to protect the cable if it isn't entirely in the walls.

If the run is exposed, you should think about using PVC conduit and separate wires. It will be better protected and be cost effective compared to cable. Plus, if you use a big conduit you can upgrade the service for more amps in the future.

Around my area prices on wire goes 2 ways---
"Basic" NM (Romex) 14 to 10 gauge- The box box stores prices are very good.
Anything over 10 gauge, or other than NM, the local electrical supply houses beat the pants off of what the big boxes are selling it for.
The supply houses I buy from sell it at a per foot price. No matter if you buy 37' or 200' it's the same per foot price.
I advise you to check prices with a "real" electrical supply house.

HD online = $215 for 125'....maybe the best I can get.

Will try elec. supply houses.
