I am looking for a decent set of 6 point combo wrenches. I've tried to get the Craftsman raised panel ones, but out Sears Hometown Dealer store never has them and cannot order them. There was a nice 12 piece set on sale this weekend but as usual our store did not have any. I tried to order online for store pickup and the closest store eligible was 40 miles away.

The real stupidity of our store not being able to order them or being eligible for store pickup is that the delivery truck comes from THE STORE 40 MILES AWAY! The owner said it makes no sense that he can't order them but that is Sears policy on that item. I could pay shipping or drive to the Sears, but I'm just fed up with Sears in regards to these wrenches.

So does anyone know what other vendor sells a decent set of 6 point wrenches? SnapOn etc. is out of my price range and SK is pushing it. Thanks for any help.

I have Snap On and Craftsman 6pt wrenches. The craftsman's are perfect on the 6pt end, The snap On's are just better because of length and the open end. I would recommend the craftsmans. You can probably pick them up new on ebay for pretty cheap.

I just went out and checked and I have three extra sets of 12 point standard wrenches (two SKs and an Armstrong long). Sorry though, no extra sets of 6 point.

FWIW I've seen a lot of Sears deals where they'll throw in free delivery if you order a certain amount. With gas at $3.50 a gallon it might be worth it to buy a little extra and get the free delivery.

I just got a 7pc SO set off ebay for $60 delivered, fwiw, but I got really lucky.

Just looked at the bay on completed auctions and saw a few 12 pc new sets for $30-$35 delivered. Seems cheap to me. I didn't catch if they were 12 or 6 pt.

Maybe you could hold out for the 140pc set that was just on sale for $100?
