I just finished my garage, and need an access box for the TV/internet cable(s) that feed through the wall.

I've looked at Lowe's, Home Depot, electrical stores, and have even called DirecTV. They have smaller access boxes, but nothing big enough.

This is what is on the outside of the house. Something like this would be great, and I could just cut an opening in the back of it.

This is what I need to cover up/have access to:

Thanks!

Just get a PVC box big enough to cover the hole They should have that at Lowes or Home Depot. It may not look like that but it would work

I got a nice metal 8x6 access box from McMaster for $17. It's just below the electrical panel, so it won't look out of place at all.

Why not get one or two of the workboxes for remodeling. These are the ones with the "wings" on the back that flip up when you tighten the screws. Then get the cover plates that have the cable connection on it. That way the plate will be flush with the wall and you won't have a box protruding from the wall. You could cut the back out of the workbox to suit your needs and you could also make a cover plate if the stock plate would not be suitable. They make the blank coverplates that you could drill out to hold the cable connectors as necessary.

These are easier to use for low voltage applications, and are available at any of the big box home stores next to the network supplies.

Another vote for a structured media cabinet. Home Depot sells the Leviton line at a pretty reasonable price. Nice thing about them is that you can add various modules as you need to. I have one in my garage that serves the entire house. It makes adding a cable feed or phone real easy. Only thing I don't like about it is that the builder put it dead center of the largest solid wall - changing my cabinet ideas.
