I need 18:

#8-32 x 3/8" Type (23)T Phillips pan head black oxide screws.

I found them with zinc coating at Fastenal, but deliver was $10 for $1.35 in screws. Every other place wants me to buy 1,00 or more.

Also, can you use type F where the original screw specified was type t if the pilot hole has not been threaded yet?

Fastenal is a great company. If you dont want to pay delivery, try one of their physical locations.

Arent you expecting a lot of service for $1.35 sale? Walk around. Work up an order. Pay the freight if you dont meet the minimum. This isnt exactly a Walmart class of item. Industrial places really are not set up for tiny retail orders. Many industrial places have a $50 minimum order.

Yeah, $1.35 will not get me much attention.

No Fastenal locations near me.

Found them on Amazon as an add on item, 100 for $3.50 but gotta spend $25 on other stuff. I guess I can buy $25 in household products that I would buy anyway elsewhere.

Do you really need the self tapping? Is your part aluminum or one of the plastics? Pretty easy to tap eighteen holes.

Type F will probably work, but tapping the holes yourself is probably better. If it is a blind hole, you will need 2 taps. A starting/taper tap and a bottoming tap.
