Hi guys, well this is my very first post but I have been lurking and searing this great forum for some time now. I recently acquired my dream shop and have spend the last few months getting it cleaned up and airlines run, it has now come time to hang some pegboard and I can't same to find anyone that has ¼ thick white pegboard. Years and years ago I put some 1/4 white pegboard up in my fathers shop and it was no big deal. Does anyone know where to get ¼ thick white pegboard or how I can get my lumber yard to order it?

Thanks
Shawn

I just bought a sheet of white pegboard from Home Depot, I think it was $24 for a 4x8 sheet.

my local HD also carries it. They only carry the white in 4'x8' sheets, but you can get 2'x4' sections in the regular wood/mdf color.

Not sure of your location, but here in WNY we have a store called Valu home center that carries 5'x5' sections....also regular wood/mdf color

Hey guys thanks for the quick reply. I'm in Phoenix, AZ and my local Home Depot and Low's only carry 3/16 thick pegboard. I do need the 4x8 sheets so that’s good. I mite just have to break down and paint it.

If you go to a traditional lumber yard, they can order just about anything you want.

I called a few luber yards today and no one wanted to order it. To be honest Im not even sure if they make it any more.

One place to look is a grocery store that might be closing, or some other store selling their fixtures. My dad got about 40 sheets or more for his church from a Kroger around here, last year, and he gave me about 10 sheets to use in my barn and garage.

I got about 40 sheets of white 1/4" (hole size) pegboard from a flea market that was remodeling. Think I got it for $3 a sheet and went through stacks they had to find the most gently used ones. Found them on craigslist. I even had a few extra sheets and sold them to a guy that posted a wanted add on craigslist. Might want to try that out if you are ok with getting used materials and saving some $.

Wow you guys are great. Thanks for all the great ideas. I have traced down many of them with no luck. I called every hardware and lumber store in Phoenix and no one has or can get 1/4 thick white pegboard. I did find it in a natural brown color though for $18 a sheet. I put an ad up on Craigslist for it but no response yet. Everyone has 1/4 hole pegboard just not 1/4 thick. I have decided to just get the natural color 1/4 thick board and paint it white. I have been reading on here that if you’re going to paint pegboard spraying is the way to do it. Now I need three full 8x4 sheets so spray cans mite be out. I have a few very good HVLP guns for cars finishes but no experience spraying house type paint. Anyone know if I can just buy a cheap harbor **** gun and shot some latex paint through it? Sorry for the long post guys thanks again for everyone’s help.
