I am fixing up a blackhawk sj 3 and would like to replace the casters and wheels on it. I am having a hard time finding casters and wheels that have a high enough weight rating.

The biggest problem are the rear casters. They are junk and need to be replaced. However, the highest weight rating I've found is 300 lbs.

I would also like to replace the front wheels. They are out of round and have seen better days. Again I can't find one with a high enough weight rating.

I know the weight ratings are listed for a given speed and go up when moving slower, but how much?

What should I do buy the highest rated wheel I can find at mcmaster carr and call it good?

Great question. I also have a jack that has some casters that need replacement.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a source.

Maybe some used parts from someone like HiBall or Elroy?

What is bad about the casters? ball bearings missing from the spinning part? Can they be replaced if so?

Someone way overload the jack. The rear casters are so splayed out they hit the body of the jack. The front wheels got crushed down over 1/8".

Call or go to OTCTOOLS.COM and ask for the price of caster model # 522932. About three years ago I bought some of these and they were selling for less than $5.00. These caster were for a model 1503A floor jack, 2.5 ton. If they are still at a cheap price, buy a couple and just use the wheels. You may also try HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS, they used to sell repair kits for some of their jacks, maybe they also sell the casters for their jacks but you may need a model #. Also, an idea mentioned above, get 2.5 in. rod, cut a one inch thick round and drill a hole in it.

OTC customer service phone is: 800-533-6127
