Check Ebay. There is a seller named 'Rob Zombie' that sells a lot of Craftsman stuff.

I sear the sears around me still sells sets that dont have the easy read stuff on them. If i may ask? what bothers you so much about the easy read? I kinda like it. I havent had any experience with it rubbing off but my sockets that have it on them are not used verry often. Just curious.

I've gotten sockets from RZ. I think that he buys sets and breaks them up. The sockets been good deals, but they all had the dual markings on them. The chrome on a 1/2" drive deep metric 6 pt 19mm is coming off after i dropped it about three feet onto blacktop.

I'm **** haha. I like all my stuff to be the same. I was hoping to get a set vs having to buy them one by one.

I just heard alot about the chrome flaking on the easy read stuff but not on the regular ones.

Hey guys where can I get craftsman sockets that don't have the easy read **** on them.. Just the regular old fashion sockets... like the ones that come in this tool set? http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00935255000P?prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

as I hate that easy read stuff plus they seem to rub off or the chrome flake. I've never had a problem with the regular sockets.

Ebay, or the exchange. Seems like the military gets all of the old stock of Craftsman tools. I'm just fine with that.

I'll have to check at the other to stores I guess. I know the smaller mall doesn't have them. And they aren't listing on sears.com

I just bought a mechanics set and have many duplicates. None are etched, just old fashioned style. PM me with what you are looking for and I'll see what I can do.

Swap meets are great for Craftsman sockets, new ones. We have about twenty vendors selling them for 1 or 2 dollars each. Brand new, boxes full of them, lots of bagged sets and most of these are the older style.

Where the vendors get so many new ones is unclear but they do on a regular basis.

Oh, and skip the 'knock offs' posts. They are new Craftsman, warranty just fine at Sears.

RZ being rob zombie on ebay?

If you just need a few you can look at the back of the racks of individual sockets for NOS at your local sears.

Nos?

I always hear of people talking about swap meets...but where do you find them or info about them?

It dose'nt have to be dropped to come off. Look at the end of the longest 1/2" extension on top, right before it goes to square. They could'nt find a better one for the photo?

Flaking chrome:http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00942283000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

Hilarious!

It's true though. I have a 19mm 1/2 drive socket that has been used all of two or three times and all of the exterior chrome peeled right off. Sliced my finger pretty good pulling it off the rail too.

New old stock from his post

Base exchange is the base store, can buy most anything at a good exchange, but need military ID or a buddy with same.

Swap meets are virtually everywhere. Called flea markets in the before times...

I don't know where you live but there is one near your house unless you live on the Snake River.
Even Bel Air has one nearby.
Look at your local 'things of interest' on google, using your zip or town name.
