Just need them to zip off the occasional brushhog blade at work. Ebay did yeild much deal wise. Work has a set or two, but im on the road alot and could use some for myself.

If you have NAPA stores in you area, I'd go there , especially if you prefer to fondle the socket(s) prior to purchase.

For the 1-3/8 and 1-1/2 35MM and 38 MM will probably work, and are common axle nut sockets, available in 1/2" drive. Even cheap ones seem to work fine.

Auto parts stores, Lowes, Amazon.com, classifieds, Craigslist, Menards, your local hardware stores. Not sure about Lowes but Home Depot didn't have a 33mm deep socket I was looking for to remove the wheel bearing hub nut off the steering knuckle.

Thanks!Ill have to check ebay for he metric sizes. And cheap is fine with me.currently have deep/ shallow impacts from 5/16 to 1 1/4 and 8mm to 33mm. The three sizes i listed are just for doing brushogs . Biggest nut i usually deal with is a Gator axle nut , which is 33mm

For what you might spend for three individual sockets plus shipping I'd suggest going to amazon and look up Sunex or Grey Pneumatic sets. I just saw a 1/2" drive sunex set for $38 shipped?. I know I bought a GP metric set for $35 from Harry Epsteins. Oh, matter of fact you should just go there for what you want.

My bigger stuff is all metric. I just put it on SAE stuff when needed. Past 30mm or so it doesn't matter too much if you're a tad off on size. Granted I rarely need the bigger stuff.

Don't know what you have locally but around me the flea markets are the best place to find larger size sockets. Can be found for an average of $5 a piece , good source especially if your looking for a few individual sockets and not a set. Not what you're looking for but as an example I picked up an almost complete set of 1942 Blackhawk 3/4" drive sockets for $3 a piece, and really only considered it a good not a killer deal. Have pieced together a decent 1/2" drive set of 1 1/16" + and never paid more than $5 each for older USA brands

Same here. That's where I get everything over 1" in a 1/2" drive. All USA made as well. Took some time and patience but well worth it financially. I'm cheap.

As far as impacts in a 1/2" drive for a low cost I have Grey Pneumatic. SAE set goes to 1 1/2" and metric goes to 36. I have the full set. Doesn't skip a size. They hold up well also. I have some SK and USA Williams as well. But they're 3/4".

If you get the the Buffalo / Niagara Falls area there is a used tool store on Walden Ave in Depew ,NY. Off exit 52 E about 5-8 miles out. In Niagara Falls there is Nut & Bolt Products on Fashion Outlet Blvd that carries the Grey like and I see a lot of larger impact sockets there. They have the best prices on hardware as well.

Over 1-1/2" will be very difficult. I had a hard time finding a 1-1/2" 1/2" drive socket. Armstrong.

Lowes. Other places have the same sizes but you usually can't get them in 1/2 drive. Prices are good too

Should be able to find those from Sunex on ebay or Amazon. Any bigger, and you'll have to go 3/4.

I'm surprised that no one has suggested a 3/4" drive set

from Harbor Freight. I have a full range of sockets from

1" to 2" by 1/16ths. Somewhat more pricey than when I got

my set, but you can watch for sales and get coupons.

A 1/2x3/4 adapter helps out, but you get a ratchet and exten-

sions with the kit. I haven't had any trouble with mine in over

30 years. http://www.harborfreight.com

In NY you have time to wait.Put a search in ebay and click the "notify by email"
Make sure and check the used box to the left before you save the search.New LG impact sockets can hurt your a$$.For farm equip, especially old and grungy, I'd buy a name brand. It may need to take a severe beating unless you own torches.
Forget truck stuff. Industrial brands will likely be a little cheaper(and more available).
Maybe even look for 3/4 drive and use an adapter. It's a viable option.
Look at Wright, Armstrong, Proto, SK maybe Martin ? Even old Craftsmans.
Farm boys used to buy a lot of Craftsman stuff back in the day.

Yep, as many others have suggested Sunex singles tend to be affordable on Amazon, but I really dunno if 3/4" drive will be more prevalent. Maybe 1/2" is also readily available.
