I had to replace a front tire blown out by our famous nj potholes. The jacking points are behind front tires and in front of rear tires there is a crimped section about 6 inches long
So if I place my hydraulic floor Jack in one of these spots where does the jack stand go?
I won't just rely on the floor Jack and the factory screw Jack is a POS. If I place the jack stand next to the floor jack Not on the crimped spot will it support the car and can it cause damage to the rocker panel? The manual says to use the factory jack in the designated spots. This is a heavy Toyota highlander 2017. Thanks

Even the crimped sections deform and bend. (my '65 Mustang, '01 LS430, a VW Jetta are my examples) I put a slot in a short piece of 2x4 to use on my floor jack when lifting the LS. The jack stand should go in the same spot as the jack as you suggest.

You might be able to find another hard spot near the crimp where you can use the jack with an "adapter" large enough to spread the load.

That said for just a tire change a floor jack is stable enough to work with for that swap IMO.

Post 2 popped up while I was dithering on post 3. Interesting that they give you a center lift point. Nothing under the sides behind the front axle or just ahead of the rear axle?

All depends on the vehicle. There is not a 1 answer for all makes answer.

On my Jeeps its under the axle tubes and a jack stand beside of the jack on the tube. I try to never use the center diff as a jacking point. ESPECIALLY if its an aluminum center section.

If it has a suitable cross member Ill use those as a jacking point so I can put a jack stand under the areas youre referring to.

DO NOT put a jack stand any other place other than the crimped areas youre referring to. It will punch right through the rocker and into the door.

Thank you for the link to show where to use a floor jack
I had no idea that if there was independent suspension system vs solid axles there was a lift point for a floor jack that would be safe for me and the car
