Where to Put Floor Drain

I'm building a new 30'x30' garage with a drain, and am unsure where best place for drain will be. I want a scissors lift under a car, so don't want the drain under center of where car will be, so am thinking between where two cars will sit. Also, I want floor fairly level for alignments and lift, so should there be any slope to drain? I thought I could just have a foot or so around the drain slope to it, and could then squeegie water to drain if needed. Are there better solutions? Thanks,

In a working shop I think the only place for floor drains is by the overhead doors. Anywhere else it's going to be in the way of floor jacks, engine stands, tool carts and anything else with wheels that you're moving from bay to bay. In addition any fastener or part that you drop will roll immediately into the drain if it's anywhere near where you're working. Over the years I've worked in shops with them in every possible location and by the doors is the least inconvenient. When I built my shop I didn't put any in and I just squeegee the water out the door or mop it up.
