Where can one source decent 2" and 3" NPT taps for a fair price? The best price I have found is Victor Machinery Exchange, being $122 and $310 respectively.

Thanks!

I bought a nice USA made used 2 inch from EBay. Around $45 if I remember correctly

How much cheaper do you expect to get? Those prices sound pretty good to me. Any tap or die in that size range is going to be expensive. No way around it unless you buy used.

You need to find a 6ft long tap wrench to turn them(!!)

I'm not using them for cutting new threads. They will only be for cleaning/repairing existing threads.

Never thought of eBay. 3" NPT is going in the low $200 range. Thanks.

Think we have them in the stock room at work if I ever need one.

You wanna sell a couple? I'm sure they'd never know. :bounce:

The eBay tip may save me enough money on the 3" tap to buy the 2", so it sure didn't hurt to ask!

Thanks for all the input thus far!
