Hi all, im new to the forum and building for that matter. So heres my question. I just inherited a good deal of land from family and have always wanted to build a house on it. So nows my chance but funds are low and a house might be a bit costly right now. So i was thinking of building a pole barn with small loft above to live in till i can afford the house. Hell the barns all i really need but the wife wouldnt be to happy if a house wasnt in the future lol. I dont have much experience building but i am very hands on and have a few friends who know a bit to help. I would like to do as much of the work myself as i can. My plans for the barn are to have it big enough to live live in and also be able to work functionally on all my automotive project. Would eventually like to put a lift in so it would have to be high enough for that but would also like the room to have multiple cars in at a time. Was thinking of using the back half of the garage as the living part. I dont have to do everything at once but would like to build it with the ability to add things later. So where should a new guy like me start? What type of pole barn would work best as far as cost ease and efficiently? Any information or a point in the right direction would be great. Sorry if im a bit vague.
Thanks
Thanks
