Where to stop coverage - Epoxy-Coat

I was wondering if I should paint the entire floor of my garage. There is a 1 foot section that extends past the garage door to the outside and would be exposed to sun and rain. Should I cover this with Epoxy-coat or tape off that section and cover it with something else? I'm a little worried about discoloration over time.

Thanks

I should have stopped at the door, i have about 5 inches (concrete) that have turned a bit yellow.

I split the door so with the door down you can't see the edge from inside or outside - used 4 inch blue masking tape at the line I wanted to stop at before starting the project. There isn't a perfectly crisp line where the tape was as there apears to have been a small amount of wicking of the product under the tape but it's pretty crisp.

Doesn't make much sense to me to not do the whole floor. BFD if it yellows? Mine was fine, just minor yellow in 3 years until I got my driveway sealed and they masked off with duct tape. I don't know why but where the tape was really yellowed the epoxy.

Oh well though. I put it down to protect the floor, it's gonna get beat up from welding, torch, plasma, grinding, **** skidding across the floor, etc. I don't operate a show museum in my place.

Im having the same issue as to where to stop. I hate to stop and make a straight line with tape. I cant imaging that it would look too good. Any other ideas how to hide the line?

Stopping at the door looks **** , go all the way , People in the know, use basically the same epoxy to paint on oil rigs, ships and bridges !!! the sun has no effect on durability ..

I think it's the clear coat that yellows. But like I said, I use my garage and the floor is gonna get beat up. The epoxy job was about 0.50/sq ft so it's not the end of the world to redo every 5-10 years.

its all a matter of preference, this is mine and the seam is center of the door so when its down you can't see epoxy on the outside and you can't see concrete on the inside.
