I have a 20x 22 garage that needs work and I've posted before and put it off and now going to try to tackle it again as I've found more time getting laid off.

My question is I have a bunch of storage in my basement, no extrerior entrance to basement and would like to store stuff in the basement while working on the garage. How much of it do i put in the basement?

Full 46inch tool box and work benches and the whole nine yards minus the fuel and oil products? Or do i leave tools and floor jacks and the larger items upstairs. Not interested in renting a storage box as im laid off and have time over money.

Thoughts?

you need to get stuff out of the way or you'll be constantly moving it and get frustrated. but you have to weigh the work required of moving everything into your basement vs moving it in the garage I guess. For sure bulky, lite stuff that you won't be using should go

I'm 8n the middle of doing my garage. I'm doing blown in insulation, repainting, and reorganizing. I've been moving everything that rolls easilly out to the driveway and back in every day. I stored all the small stuff in totes. Then I just moved the stuff that is hard to move the middle of the garage. It ***** but seems way better than moving stuff to the basement and back. A small trailer would be the way to go if it's more than a week long project.

How much of a remodel are you doing ? How much room do you need to work ?

The cheapest solution is to move all the little stuff to the basement and leave the big stuff there. You'll have to move it around as need be and cover it with plastic but I think most of us have been there before.

Its mostly structural work done to the garage. It's old and has a few issues that need to be addressed. The previous owner decided at some point to place a garden next to the garage. Instead of digging down they just added soil up to the siding which held moisture and rotted out the bottom plate.

I have room for a POD but looked into it and at almost 160 to 190 not including delivery and pickup feels high to me.

I moved everything of my old 16x33 in a 12x20 shelterlogic car shelter.

everything except some power tool and tool chest that went into my 7x14 enclosed trailer and some random stuff taht start to be in the basement but ended up in my trailer as soon as I used it.

I built a temporary shelter for some of my big stuff. It got a little bit wet but I could have easily prevented that by buying a good tarp

If you can box or otherwise carry- EASILY- stuff down a flight of stairs, I'd do that. All the big/heavy stuff can be put on dollies- or hopefully already has casters. That will make moving things easily for access.

Work smart; not hard!

Carry what you can to the basement. Leave the big stuff in the garage and move it to the middle.

Sux for effort, but it'll get the job done.
