I know they want to wean themselves off those 15% off sales, and maybe they will be less often, but it appears they can't do away with them forever.

I always wonder that myself, but as a seller I really never see any spike the day of coupons. Yesterday was pretty average in sales for me.

so, who do you think are the real beneficiaries of these sales?

people offering expensive stuff that rarely goes on sale?

if they didn't move the needle a lot, they would not have talked about using them to spike revenue last year, and mentioned pulling back on them this year. . . .

I'm sure they see an average daily increase in sales, but I'm not sure who is benefiting from it. I suspect it's a pretty small blip though. I'd love to see their metrics behind the promotions to see what it really is.

I have quite a few $200-500 items with high watch counts, none sold yesterday. The items that I sold were $30-50.

Not a huge savings, but it's worth clicking on if you're going to buy something anyway. I usually end up with a few bucks per quarter.
