Here is a little 3/8” x 7/16” Hinsdale DBE wrench found at a recent local yard sale.

Found this big ol’ DOE at a thrift store in Iowa. Funny thing is, there were 6 of them - all the same size and looking pretty crusty. I picked the best one and cleaned it with WD-40 and #0000 steel wool.

It weighs 2.9 pounds. 13.25” long. Openings are 1-5/16 and 1-1/8”. Jaws are 5/8" thick. Looks like it was cadmium plated.

I couldn’t find it in any catalogs.

I found this wrench on Saturday.
When it came out of the evaporust yesterday I was cleaning it very carefully as I do with all tools I suspect were cad plated. After spraying it with brake cleaner and wiping it with a paper towel, I discovered that what I thought was cad plating was actually silver paint.

I found these two shorty offset DBE wrenches at yesterday’s estate sale. They are going to need some work. One of them has some bad chrome peel.

Hinsdale 1/2” and 1/4” set. This was a 1/2” and 1/4” vanadium set and shares a similar box to the early Craftsman C-series. The top tray is reversed from the C-series. Not gonna lie.. This is a grail set for me!
