This is the only area that's wet. I dug and installed the only two water hydrants on this property. I dug around and from the meter and there's only one line coming from it. Time to ask the neighbor about wells is this area.

This pipe and this valve were where this cinder block is, I relocated the pipe to protect the hydrant. When I had the excavator out here I dug a white pvc pipe that was going in the direction of this wall. It broke off while digging so I just covered it up. So many unknowns out here, if I buy an excavator I'll dug up every pipe I find.

Black poly may be part of a drip irrigation/sprinkler system. May only come on (and 'leak') for a few minutes a day.

No sprinklers out here, I've run all electrical circuits for the shop. No timers either. There's a box in the in the middle of the property with a water spigot(and snake skins). There was a mobile home here at some point in time. Septic tank under cinder block.

Are you on city water or well ? Is the meter moving when everything is turned off ?

It's a municipal well, after I made a main line repair last week I checked the meter and the propeller wasn't spinning.

Seems awful suspicious to see water one week after cutting a pipe. I'd definitely be considering that line as a source.

The black poly line could be 500 feet long, so I guess it could still have water in the line. There are no other lines coming off my meter. I have no doubt this line at one time came from the well as the line I dug up while doing the new install was black poly.
I went out Monday and the area was dry; I just filled it in for now.

Do you have a rough idea of a location for the long poly line? You might be able to run some water into the line from the uphill side and confirm it was simply water sitting in the line.
I know it's easy to bury and forget about the water but I feel better when I know. Little leaks add up over time.

Sounds like the case. I was thinking along the lines of confirming where the water came from.
I'm probably prone to go a little overboard on random pipes left buried. Same goes for wiring. It seems that too often I'm stuck trying to figure out those messes long after anyone remembers the what and where. I'm not the only one either. It's pretty common to see threads with someone spending a lot of time and effort trying to figure out random old plumbing and wiring.
One ongoing example. In our area freezing creates havoc with sprinkler systems if people don't blow the lines. A few years back my neighbor asked for help trying to install a new sprinkler system. The property already had two systems that had froze and were abandoned. He had a contractor pull new pipe which meant knifing through old lines. I was helping make the connections to valves and heads on new pipe. It was pretty common to dig connector holes and find multiple lines. Some of those pipe mysteries were solved by making connections and looking for water bubbling out of the ground. (That meant we had connected to an old busted line.) Some of those bubblers didn't show up until later when he ran long cycles and water ran down the street. I'd bet there are still some buried. The yard has some persistent mushy spots and sprinkler zones that don't supply the heads efficiently. They consistently throw a lot of water at that lawn trying to keep it looking decent. I wonder how much water is lost? We have the same soil and use much less water.
