which 1/2" cordless impact? $199 milwaukee?

I'm currently using a snap on 8810 (newest 3/8 drive). I have less than a year on it and haven't used it very much. It won't break a nut loose tightened down to 75' lbs of torque.

I'm thinking of just moving up to 1/2" drive. Rural King has a 1/2" milwaukee for $199 this black Friday. It comes with one battery. Serisouly thinking of popping on it. Thoughts?

Depends on how much torque you want. The 1/2" Snap On is rated at the highest torque, followed by the Hilti and 28v Milwaukee. The others are lower.

Milwaukee's website says that 2663-20 has a torque of 450 ft-lbs. I've seen that kit typically for $299.

my 1/4 inch dewalt will bust loose a trailer lug nut if its got a hot battery. my small 1/2 inch will do it in a breeze. i would think the snap on would be miles better than the dewalt.

I was looking at 18 volt 1/2" impacts on milwaukee's website. It shows 100 pounds on mode one and 700 pounds on mode 2.

Pulled up the model number on the rural king special and it's just a straight 450 pounds.

Guess it's the older model?

Upping the drive size will help. But torque is what you'll need regardless of brand, or drive size really.
As to link you posted. You can get it. Or a corded impact, or pneumatic impact.
The options come to what feels right in your hands mainly.

No really, shouldn't be an issue cracking a 75. But yeah...1/2 is what you want with higher torque even manually. I don't know the torque specs on hand tools though (and they won't tell you); you want it to last (if it's a pita to warranty) use 1/2" over 100. Just saying.

Should you buy another cordless? Nah, wouldn't bother. Save for air or buy an electric. Even if it's got more torque it's going to burn through those batteries pretty quick. I doubt it's much lighter or less cumbersome than a plug in and you don't got to charge a plug in.

Just imagine you're removing axle nuts and you need to recharge between...pain pain pain. What's the point if you need to do it manually while you wait for the battery to charge?!?

It's an older model M18 (brushed motor), but still capable. The 700 ft-lbs model is brushless, but it's also noticeably bigger and heavier. I think the older M18 was a decent sized gun.

It's the model before the fuel came out. For $200 not a bad deal will have plenty more power over the 8810. It does only have one battery if that is an issue for you. The fuel version costs more than that as a bare tool.

Its not a fuel brushless model thats why its only 450ftlbs. But still comes with the lithium battery pack. Still a very good impact and very capable. Well worth the $200. And if you use it alot buy a second battery pack for a spare so your never with out. My milwaukee packs charge fast so no need for more then 2 packs.

Although this is the "older" model 1/2 now that the fuel came out, at that price its a steal. I abuse mine with removing and installing under body-----rusty and crusty----- plow bolts. Most are double nutted bolts and if the cordless cant break'em loose, the blue wrench will. I can usually get through the whole job on one xc battery, the 4.0 is even better..... Very under rated torque specs IMO....

I think that's a good deal for the walkee, I have that same impact and it removes everything, even 3/4&1 ton lug nuts.
Too bad lowes or hd don't have a deal like that as none of those stores are close to me.

Sorry to hear about you CT8810. I have both the new ct8810 & CT7850 and have been more than satisfied.

I had the Dewalt XRP 1/2" Nicad previous to those and was happy overall.

I think that Milwaukee would work for pulling most lugs off.

Just decide on a budget and purchase best you can get with your money. Don't forget to save some budget for 1/2" impact sockets.
