The first appears to be a Saylor Beall clone and the second a Kellogg American clone. For that kind of money, a used American made (non-clone) unit can be had for much less.

The EMAX is made by Airbase Industries which are the makers of the Eaton (Polar Air) compressors. You can get the same exact compressor with the Polar Air name on it for much less then the cost of the EMAX and they carry the same exact parts and warranty on them, plus you get your choice of color on the Polar Air one. Just as a note, Air Base Industries (Eaton Compressors) also make a few of the larger Speedway compressors and also the HULK Power compressors, but those don't carry the same warranty even though they use the same parts.

What's the usage? If it's for a production garage, don't buy a clone, buy the real thing.

If it's for a home shop - I agree above. I have two industrial strength name brand compressors - one at home and one in my shop, and got both of them used at a much better price than I could buy a clone. They both run like a top and are quiet and powerful.

Not to hijack, but I too am looking at a real compressor, I have one to air up tires. Is this one of the Speedway compressors made by Eaton???http://www.amazon.com/gp/cart/view.html/ref=gno_cart

If so I may jump on it. For 862.54 it seems like a good price.
Thanks
