Which Bench Shear?

I’m looking to add a bench shear (also known as a hand shear or plate shear) to my shop. Primarily for 18 gauge and lighter steel and aluminum sheet and some 11 gauge 2” wide steel bar.

Here is an old thread, but it doesn’t really come to a conclusion.

These all seem to be based off the Pexto / Roper Whitney #39 so the design is sound. My concern is more about the quality of the tool steel blades.

Ebay and Amazon are filled with imports likely from China.

I’ve found the Ehoma 3SR160 which is made in Taiwan and claims to use Japanese Tool Steel for the shear blades.

There is also Mubea from Germany though I can’t seem to find a place to buy them new.

The Ehoma and Mubea shears appears to be manufacured in a different way than the Chinese imports, the offset between the upper and lower frame has a smooth curve like it’s been pressed in a die. The Chinese imports have sharp 90 degree angles suggesting that the upper and lower frames are welded together.

Does anyone have a recommendation on which version to buy?
