Which box to get?

So, my home tool collection just seems to keep growing and growing (not complaining), and I have completely outgrown my SO Kr657 stack.

This is only about half of my hand tools

So, my plan is to sell the Kr for around 800-1000, and then use that money for a new, larger box. Obviously, this limits me to know truck boxes, especially for the size I am looking at.

I have narrowed it down between 2 boxes.

My current front runners are:

The husky 66" workbench, which is 24" deep (definite plus), and has a mega 61" top drawer, though it only has single drawer slides, with a center underneath.

Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

My other plan would be for 2 HF 44" bottom cabs, placed side by side. The pluses with this is having a little bit heavier built box, dual slides, and more expandability.

Been obsessing about this for days... Need some opinions to help me decide.

The HF boxes are pretty good value for the money. If you are near a Menards, you might want to check out their offerings.

I just upgraded to the 66 inch husky from my 2 HF44 boxes. I like it alot better that all my tools are in one box. I have not had any issues with the husky box and have it loaded to the gills. If you go the HF route i would recommend that you get either the 56 or 72 since they are deeper than the 44 which make a huge difference

I would recommend that you look at drawers sizes and calculate the physical flat surface area you have and i think you will find that two 44 boxes are not as good as one 56 or bigger box

I'm very happy with the husky 66" box fit all of my tools and I still have a half empty drawer that I'll need to organize and fill.

Yea they are close.. the HF would come in at like 200 sq in less than the husky

Only advantage with HF is easy expanded with side drawer hanging cabinets or a 3rd 44" box plus smaller boxes easier handle/move/transport if needed .
If you think not going expand much then the husky is a neat solution and 24" depth is nice in drawer storage and worktop space. Top drawer best not overloaded as can bow if really loaded it with sockets upright .
Husky would sell better if range had couple expansion drawer hang on options ...
Masterforce pretty good choice when on offer but as no menards near you that off the list .

Buy a used tool truck brand off Craigslist or contact a driver to see if you could trade yours towards a box, new or used. [

^ above always worth a try but expect you hard pushed find what you want local enough especially if time a concern. I always find going used via dealer although increases what available used the prices are far from bargain and sometimes far from reasonable also ...
I only keen on truck brand when been something a stop gap or temporary solution so can sell on easily with no loss or maybe profit if bought a bargain .
