Hi All,

I have just purchased my first Truck Camper (Angler 2000lbs) and would like some advice on the camper tie down system. Although I'm of the opinion that either Happi Jac or Tork Lift are both fine systems, my 2004 Silverado 2500HD, Diesel, SB has nerf bars all the way to the rear wheel. Will I be able to use the Tork Lifts without removing the nerf bars at the front of the bed? I know that I can use them for the rear, but am trying not to drill holes in the front of the bed. If there won't be enough clearance, then I'll have to use the Happi Jacs up front. Also, any opinions on using the Brophy type tie downs that fit in the truck bed square holes?

Well I can tell you that using the tie downs that go in the stake pockets will cause damage over time. Tork lift is an excellent solution but I can not be sure if it would be compatible with you step bars.
Dad and I have fixed his friends truck a few times from damage caused by camper tie downs. Last time we installed tork lift on the front but kept the stake tie downs on the rear. The front seemed to get damaged more.

CAll and ask how far they stick out from the frame. I'd buy the tork lift or build something similar if I thought I ever might leave the highway.
