EDIT - the Milwaukee kit I bought is NOT an impact kit. I'm not very familiar with compact impacts and bought what I thought was an impact kit. Other GJ members showed that I was mistaken. I'll likely be returning the Milwaukee kit.

The nice thing about the Milwaukee set is there are a great number of bare tools that you can purchase from radios to 12 powerpoints, cameras, borescopes. Personnally I would stick with the Milwaukee. My .04 cents

That Milwaukee doesn't look like an impact, it looks like an assembly screwdriver. The M12 line is great though. There's a 3/8in square drive impact for socket use or a 1/4in hex impact for general use, both around $90 bare or a bit more in kit with batteries. They're always running a good promotion too.

I wasn't sure looking at the box, but it is a true impact. I've been playing around with it in my garage. It has the 1/4" hex drive. It looks like a drill because it has an adjustable clutch, but it has the real impact action.

Does the tool you have look like this?:

That is the M12 impact driver. The one in the picture you posted is not an impact driver.

I have the M12 system and they do real good. My Dad bought me most of it to help with my disability. The latest item was the 90 deg. drill. They have sure assisted me big time and the LED light on each tool helps. I also have the "Shockwave" bit set for them.

Thanks, JASTECH

I think someone posted on here that those Milwaukee batteries die out a little quick. That said, I'd still keep the Milwaukee for the same reasons as the others have stated.

Just before Christmas I bought a combo kit Hitachi 12 V peak. Both drill and impact weigh 2.2 lbs. Surprising the power you can get from an impact. This one has 840 in lbs and will drive lags, but is more intended for the lighter user rather than industry. So far I like them both pretty well. Replaced my 12 year old Bosch 12 v that I couldn't find batts for without paying an arm and a leg.

None of the above. The Matco 10.8 1/4" drive is the best on the market hands down and it's actually a 1/4" square drive, not hex. This tool is great
