Looking for a good deal for a set? Saw a food deal on a hitachi driver in the hot deal index but would like both? Does not have to be hitachi just best quality for the best price. Thanks

Are you looking for 3/8 or 1/2. I have a S/O 3/8, it is older, been through 1 already, they could be better. I have heard good things about the IR Lithiun Ion, this is prob what I would get if I bought another one. I have seen some othr brands that look similar, most likely a few companies make them all....like everything else.

I have a DeWalt and I've burned through 5 batteries. Perhaps they are better with the Li-ion. But I would not buy another Ni-cad DeWalt. Battery replacements are expensive. In fact, it was cheaper for me to buy another drill with two batteries than two batteries. That's why I have three drills now. Forgetaboutit.

On a 3/8 impact I really think it's going to be hard to find any one brand that has a killer advandage over the other. When it come to 3/8 impacts I just like using a good 1/4 chucked impact driver and putting in a 3/8 bit. For about anything I have a 14.4 volt DeWalt that works better than my old POS Snap-On 3/8 impact did on it's best day. I wouldn't limit myself to a deadicated 3/8 cordless impact. Using a 1/4 chucked impact driver gives you many more options and most have great power as well. If it was 1/2 drive then I would start with the Dewalt 18V Cordless and end with Snap-On's 6850. If you are going deadicated 3/8 go air. Then head right for the IR2115

I am kinda torn on this same issue. I saw the right angle impact driver at sears the other day. 900 inch pounds. nice and small should be able to get into tight spots. then again is it going to have the snot to take a rusted ****** pan off?

Theres the 12 volt dewalt 1/4 inch. ( I am a sucker for yellow) craftsman makes the same model with more torque.

There are 3/8 ones. But I think it might be getting away from the whole point of me buying it which is to use it for things I would normally use a 1.4 inch ratchet for and some 3/8 applications as well.

If I need insane power i will break out the air gun.

I would like to hear everybodys thoughts on various models as well.
